Waste Week is back – and it’s bigger than ever!

We’re excited to announce our support for Waste Week 2017 – bigger than ever and helping your school to get serious about reducing waste!

Running from 6th – 10th March, the Waste Week allows schools to put a focus on waste in a fun and engaging way.

As ever, the wonderful team at The Pod have created an amazing resource pack, and schools can get their hands on one for free if they sign up ASAP! The Pod are kindly giving away 2,000 free packs – but interest for the campaign has been so high already, that they have less than 500 left!

This year’s theme is ‘Upcycling’ to support learning around STEM, with a challenge to students to come up with the most creative upcycled item. The top prize is £300 Amazon vouchers for your school, so go and check out how to enter, here.

Waste is one of the nine core topics of Eco-Schools and so getting involved in Waste Week is a great way to get an Eco-Schools award and should definitely be included on your Green Flag application.

As ever, send us your best pictures or stories on Twitter and we’ll re-tweet our favourites.

Sign up now to get involved and join the national movement to put an end to waste!
