Eco-Schools England is proud to announce that in 2024-2025 we will again be partnering with Bupa Foundation to offer free Eco-Schools’ training to any adult who works in a school, college, or nursery in England. Eco-Schools’ training sessions are designed to provide practical advice, inspiration, and real-life examples to educators who want to support youth-led eco-action and increase environmental education in their setting.
We have separate training aimed at schools/colleges or nurseries/early years settings. There are 3 separate session for each type of setting. You can find further details about each session and register for free below.
School and College Training

Session 1 takes place during Autumn Term, providing an overview of the programme and advice on creating an Eco-Committee, completing an Environmental Review, and developing an impactful yet manageable Action Plan.
This session is an hour long, beginning at 16:15.

Session 2 takes place during Spring Term, providing a chance to catch up before sharing advice on including environmental issues in your learning, expanding your activities into your local community, and celebrating your achievements.

Session 3 takes place during Summer Term, just before the Green Flag application window opens on May 1st. It provides advice on completing your Green Flag application and what to expect during the assessment process.
This session is half an hour long, beginning at 16:15.

Nursery and Early Years Training

Session 1 This session takes place in Autumn, providing an introduction to our all-new Eco-Schools Early Years pathway, designed especially for nurseries. It contains plenty of ideas for setting up an Eco-Club, completing a site review, and engaging children in environmental learning and activities.

Session 2 takes place at the beginning of 2025, spotlighting steps 4-7 of the Eco-Schools: Early Years’ framework. It contains advice on improving the sustainability of your setting, involving your local community in your environmental action, and reflecting on your eco-activities with children in your Eco-Club.
This session is an hour long, beginning at 16:15.
