The Pod is EDF Energy’s environmental education programme. We’re pleased to say that we’ve been in partnership with The Pod since 2009 and it has proven to be highly beneficial for children and schools up and down the country.
The Pod is a free online resource for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 pupils, focussing on Sustainability, Energy and Science. It provides clear and simple ways for schools to link their environmental education to the curriculum. To find out more about The Pod and how they can help your school, you’ll need to register, but it’s easy to do and free of charge.
For Your Students
The Pod can keep your students up to date with the latest environmental and sustainability campaigns that are happening around the country which they can get involved in. Check out The Pod’s Campaign page
The Pod have also collected and created an exciting variety of games and videos to help bring the issue of sustainability to life. Get your Eco-Committee to check these out – and potentially share with others in school. View the student zone
The Pod have provided one of the widest collections of educational resources of any of our partners. A whole range of curriculum-linked lessons, assemblies and resources are available to download and use.
Many of these resources link directly to Eco-Schools topics, helping your school to better integrate Eco-Schools work into the curriculum and see you on your way to a Green Flag Award.
The Pod E-zine
Our friends at the Pod have made it easier than ever to use their resources effectively. Check out their e-zine here as your first port of call to the Pod, their campaigns and links to the resources most relevant to you and your school. There’s no limit to the number of teachers at your school who can sign up to the Pod so why not share the e-zine with your colleagues!
