The Eco-Schools Awards

The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning. You can work up to Green Flag level by achieving Bronze and Silver awards which are self-accredited stepping stones to help your school set off in the right direction on your journey to becoming an Eco-School.

There is no time limit for how quickly you need to achieve your Green Flag after registration- however on average it takes around one year.

There is no cost to register your school as an Eco-School, however as a charity we receive no government funding therefore have to ask our Eco-Schools to pay £200 (plus VAT) after submitting their Green Flag application. This payment covers the desk assessment of your application, half day visit by one of our Green Flag Assessors, the Eco-Schools Green Flag and P&P. The invoice will be sent after your Green Flag assessment visit, on receipt of payment your award pack, including flag and certificate, will be sent out.

Bronze Award

The first award you can achieve on your way to Green Flag is the Bronze Award. This can be achieved by putting steps 1, 2 and 3 of the Eco-Schools framework into action.
